Our most popular trip blends hands-on mushing with a scenic backcountry ride. Meet the dogs, drive your own sled or ride guided, and stop at a cozy camp for snacks, warm drinks, and breathtaking views — all in a half-day adventure.

  Gratuities - 15% minimum applied at checkout. Guests may be more generous, but plan for 15%. Guides appreciate cash, but guests may leave the gratuity on their card on file, stored during the reservation process.
Weight & Age: Adults 18+ or 95 lbs+, children under 95 lbs; infants who cannot walk.
Photo Package: We’ll capture your entire excursion for $65 using a Nikon D500 with a Tamron 18–400 mm lens.

Your safety and enjoyment are always our top priorities. We design each adventure with care so every guest can relax, have fun, and make unforgettable memories.

Drivers and Riders

People can come in pairs or trios. Single drivers are charged as 1 adult and 1 child ($500 per single driver) and will be paired with a guide for an enjoyable ride.Children, depending on their age, must be on a guided sled either with other kids from their family or with a parent. Please call before booking if you have any questions.

Example: The Smith Family of 5, mom, dad, and 3 kids ages 5, 7, and 9, are divided as follows: mom and dad each drive their own team with a guide coaching within sight and over the radio. The 3 Smith kids share a sled with a guide, taking turns driving just like the adults, with the peace of mind that they have an expert on board (an expert known for trail songs and popsicle stick jokes!).

Shuttle Service

Round-trip, door-to-door shuttle available. Pricing ranges $25–$45 per person depending on pickup location (Steamboat Springs, Oak Creek, or Phippsburg).

Weight Limits per Sled

450 lbs max for 2-person sleds. 550 lbs max for 3-person sleds (no more than 3 adults). If 2 adults together exceed 450 lbs, they may drive a 3-person sled at 1.5x the adult rate (please call to book).

Guided Option

Available for those who prefer to relax or have limitations. Up to 2 adults in a guided sled, or very small children riding with an adult.

Gratuity Policy

15% minimum gratuity suggested. Groups of 3 or more have an automatic 15% gratuity added.

Orientation and hands-on lesson in dog driving and safety
Opportunity to drive your own sled (with a warm up break halfway, most people drive the whole time now with double drivers) or ride guided
Learn about harnessing, hooking up, and caring for the dogs

Midway stop at a secluded wall tent camp with complimentary snacks, hot drinks, and amazing views
Time to snap photos and help care for the dogs before heading back

Deposit & Cancellation Policy

Guests must change or cancel reservations 4 days prior to their scheduled excursion. Once they receive the reminder, they must call and email immediately with any changes. No changes inside of 72 hours, people may communicate changes but should expect to pay in full for their reservation.
